Angela grew up in North Little Rock, Arkansas and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with her BSE and from Henderson State University with her MSE. In 2020, she became a TBRI Practitioner.
She taught in general education and bilingual classrooms for 11 years.
In February of 2017, she felt God calling her to quit her job and launch a nonprofit that had previously been a church ministry and For the Sake of One was born.
In September of 2018, Angela was awarded the Congressional Angels in Adoption award and pin in Washington DC.
Her husband Samuel is the Assistant Special Education Director at the Western Bowie County Co-op and the two of them have 3 sons: Trent, Moses, and Ambrose. Angela enjoys reading, laughing, running, friends, and spontaneity.
Alyssa graduated from Texas A&M University-Texarkana in May 2014 with her Bachelors in Mass Communication. After almost 4 years as the Event and Marketing Coordinator at the Chamber of Commerce, she desired a career change.
In February 2019, she began working at For the Sake of One and has loved it ever since. Getting to help people AND plan events is the perfect duo! Alyssa and her husband, Michael, live in DeKalb, TX and have two dog-children Annabelle and Scottie. Michael is an Air Force veteran and currently works at MHC Kenworth. Alyssa and Michael are members at Walnut Church of Christ in Texarkana, TX. Alyssa enjoys all things coffee, books, animals, gardening, and game nights with family.
Lauren was born in Atlanta, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with her Bachelors in Psychology. She worked in Therapeutic Foster Care for 4 years and fell in love with the population. Lauren began working at For the Sake of One in March 2021 and has been blessed immensely to be on staff with an organization that aligns so closely with her heart. In 2021, she became a TBRI practitioner. Lauren lives in Atlanta near all of her family. Her fiance, Ryan, is the JH/HS principal at Bloomburg. Between the two of them, the have a zoo of pups - Max, Ollie, and Moose. She attends Heritage Church. In her free time, she enjoys reading, being with friends, and traveling.
Brandie was born and raised in Texarkana, TX. She received her Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in Behavioral Science in 2011 and Associate of Arts in General Studies in 2012 after a life altering bout of West Nile encephalitis and meningitis in 2009 while in Nursing School. Previously, she worked in finance for 5 years for a local investment firm. In 2011, she married her best friend Brian and they welcomed their first child in 2013. From that point, she knew she wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. God surprised the couple with a big surprise in 2015-twins! Once all the kids were in school, she felt a tug to do more outside of the home. In November of 2022, she began her job at For the Sake of One as the Office Manager and Supervised Visit scheduler. She loves being able to help other families connect and see the love amongst them and their children. Brandie and her family love animals and commonly refer to their home as the funny farm, with donkeys, chickens, cats, dogs, and a turtle. Brandie also loves to garden and collect house plants!
Sercy grew up in Fouke, Arkansas, and attended the University of Arkansas at Hope-Texarkana (UAHT), where she earned an associate's degree in Social Work. She married her husband, Dawson, on October 9, 2021, and they have a charcoal Labrador Retriever named Stormy, who keeps them on their toes and guarding the laundry basket. Dawson is a traveling industrial electrician for Midland Industrial Services. Sercy began teaching at Revolution Dance Center in Fouke in 2021 and has been there since. This year marks her fourth season teaching. Sercy and her husband attend Radiant Church in Texarkana. She enjoys reading and game nights with her family.
